Day 21: Updates and Some Exciting News!
Hello and welcome to Laughter Jayne! We have ten days left in my Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts Challenge. You can see the info about that here. I got back from vacation in North Carolina today. We didn't have wifi so I was not able to post any updates, but I did get some reading done.
Reading Updates:
- I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix(7/15)
-I started (7/15) and finished (7/16) Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
-I started (7/16) and finished (7/19) Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Other Updates:
-I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(7/18)
Also, I promised a DIY Hogsmeade Scented Candle. So, here it is.
How To: Hogsmeade Candle
This candle smells like I would imagine the Three Broomsticks would smell in Hogsmeade. It was super easy to make and I love using it!
Supplies:
-Container/Jar for your candle
-Jar wax
-Cinnamon liquid scent
-Spice cake liquid scent
-Grater(I used a cheap one because you can't use it again)
-Double broiler(I used a pot of water and a metal pie pan)
-Wick
-Hot glue gun and glue
Directions:
1. Boil a pot of water for the double broiler.
2. Grate wax. You need double the amount that fits in your container.
3. Add your wax to the container for your double broiler.
4. Melt down the wax.
5. Add your scents. Adjust to preferred blend.
6. Mix.
7. Hot glue wick in jar.
8. Pour wax in and let cool for 24 hours.
9. Trim wick before using.
That's the candle and time for the exciting news. I have been working to re-do my bedroom to make it book themed. So far I have painted my old desk, built a bed frame that has a dresser built in, and started my art wall. Tomorrow I'm going to IKEA to get two Billy Bookcases! I have been waiting so long to get them. Stay tuned for the vlog of me getting my book shelves tomorrow. Bye for now-Lily Jayne.
